Over the week we sent a few questions over to Scriptily to learn some more of what he does on Roblox. We hope you enjoy reading the interview!
Hello, what do you do on Roblox?
Hello! My name is Angelo, but better referred to and known as Scriptily on the Internet. I'm a Roblox developer since 2016. I'm recognized more for my Lua and JavaScript programming work, but I also occasionally design UIs as a passion, and sometimes design icons and graphics to fit my UIs. I also build oftentimes if I have to. I prefer to work as a solo dev, but it gets stressful and I procrastinate a lot so lol.
What inspired you to pick such a path?
Roblox has been one of my favorite childhood games ever since I was introduced to it back in November 2012 through an advertisement online on my old childhood game, Ace of Spades. I've been playing Roblox ever since then and I've made a lot of friends and great playbuddies along the way and I'm grateful for them every day. I've always been inspired by those who developed on the Roblox platform and their creations and games have always impressed me. I decided one day to try out the whole dev thing for myself, and while it was difficult and very confusing at first, I got the hang of it eventually through self-learning; I used to check scripts and other works done by other people and learn what methods they implemented and used and tried to figure out the most optimal ones and learnt from them. Eventually, I moved over to the Roblox wiki once I had more than enough knowledge and better understanding of Lua and Roblox Studio in general. Recently, I've decided to expand my programming knowledge and tried out JavaScript for myself, and since then, I've already made 4 Discord bots that I self-host on my PC.
Have any designs/builds you want to show us?
Funny you should ask, I'm a really procrastinative person and I haven't really finished a game of mine yet, but I do have a couple of old projects that were canceled but are up for public viewing.
Be aware though, most of these are fairly old games that have not been touched or updated in more than a year or two, so most likely they are broken because of Roblox updates:
Prisoner's Journey 2; a sequel to one of my most anticipated games back in 2017-2018: https://www.roblox.com/games/1493236293
Testing Environment.; originally was just a testing grounds for side projects and creations of mine, but eventually shaped to an FFA game with old classic Roblox weapons and classic map styles from back in the good old days: https://www.roblox.com/games/1171997544
Silence; a horror, story-driven game with only 1 chapter available because I may have forgotten to make the rest lol: https://www.roblox.com/games/2693347604
The Awakening (not ready for public viewing); the most anticipated game of mine; has been a project of passion since mid-2018, project was revived in December 2019, development paused temporarily in December 2020: https://www.roblox.com/games/2083099212 (learn more about the game on my website: https://scriptily.weebly.com/ta.html)
Defenselance (not ready for public viewing); a strategic tower defense game with unique gameplay and mechanisms that will hopefully get the player hooked up and wanting to play more. Currently this is my most recent project; The Awakening's development was paused and resources are focused on developing this game instead for the time being: https://www.roblox.com/games/2269755670
Prisoner's Journey (closed down); the original game, prequel to PJ2, which was one of my most anticipated games and gained me a fanbase: https://www.roblox.com/games/617920295
Murder Blood (closed down); a murder-mystery-style game with the original TMM knives and guns - was one of my very first successful games that boosted my development career and got me recognition in the scenery, also learnt a lot from it: https://www.roblox.com/games/479339020
a game, i guess? (closed down because is severely broken thanks to Roblox updates); a dash-and-dive, parkour, fast-paced game inspired by Speed Run 4 and some other games: https://www.roblox.com/games/1515089259
What made you choose Roblox?
Refer to the second question; It is my favorite childhood game of all time and have been playing it for almost 9 years as of the time I'm writing this.
What is your goal(s) on Roblox?
My goal is to become a known developer and gain the recognition I want and make games for fun, and so far, it seems like I've achieved this goal. I've also set a goal for myself a year ago to hit 1M+ RAP (recent average price) on my Roblox account, and I have successfully achieved this goal on 2/16/2021.
Anything else you want to add?
Yes actually. I'd like to say that being on the Roblox platform, playing and making games for years has been an absolute blast of joy for me and I've met a lot of great, admirable and smart people on the way and I've learnt a lot from them and from my presence and experience on the platform. People say that you should focus on your goals and work hard towards them, and I honestly agree with that statement, but to be honest, that's not what I did; I just self-learnt my skills along the way. I never thought nor wanted to be a programmer when I was a kid, but I just discovered that passion throughout the years. Fun fact, I originally wanted to be a builder in real life, but I dropped that dream because I'm afraid of heights lol.
Rapid question time, what is your favorite item on Roblox?
Oh mate, there are a lot of items that I'd love to own; to name a few: a Sparkle Time fedora, Clockwork shades and headphones, Blackvalk, and Darkheart.
My favorite items that I own are: Classic Fedora, Valkyrie Helm, Golden Antlers, Immortal Sword - Wicked Heart, Super Super Happy Face, Workclock shades and headphones, Headless Horseman, and Deathspeaker.

1 bobuck, take it or leave it.
Will you be my friend?
Sure! The more the merrier haha.
Real talk though, best friends are amazing and I'm grateful for every single one of them! :)
Best way to wrestle a snake?
That is, an odd question, but I'd toss it on the ground and stomp on its head... Yeah.
Any last things you wanted to add to aspiring people with the same goals as you?
I know I'm gonna sound biased by this because literally everyone says it, but you should focus on your dreams and goals and never let anyone else tell you otherwise or to pursue another dream. If it's something you enjoy and are passionate about it, why should others care? Do what you love! Do what you enjoy! Those who try to take you down are failures who haven't succeeded in life and have nothing else better to do and thus they dedicate their time to take you down with them. Don't listen to them. Do what makes you you. That's what makes each individual unique and special!
Thank you for your time!

Thanks! I may have taken longer than I should have to write this interview because I'm lazy, but hey, at least I did it!
Thank you for having me! Have a great day! :D
