On March 27th, 2021 AnimalBot99 got to chat with DigitalBloxed. Digital is most known his time on Up Late with DigitalBloxed from TOF Studios. We hope you enjoy the interview!
Animal: Hello Digital, you just won an award at the time of this interview, what is the award and how are you feeling?
Digital: Hello, Animal! Yes! I did just win an award for my talk-show called “Up Late with DigitalBloxed”, and I am very proud of it. So, I’m feeling great! How are you?
Animal: I am doing well, tell us how it was to be running the “Up Late” show and what happened with it?
Digital: I can tell you this, it was both exciting and stressful at the same time. I of course started this talk-show as a newbie, I had no experience in hosting anything at that time, but watching a late-night talk-show “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” on this network called CBS, inspired me to make my own, and so I did! Sadly, at this time, our network TOF Studios ended the talk-show. While it is sad, I understand why they would do that.
Animal: That is sad to hear. So what do you do with your time on Roblox now?
Digital: Well for now, I mainly am just trying to find a new home for my talk-show as I still want to continue doing it in some shape or form.
Animal: That is cool to hear. Want to expand upon what a day in the life of Up Late was like?
Digital: That’s a really good question. A typical day in the life of Up Late was as I said was stressful, but it wasn’t all pressure and stress, we mostly had fun picking at each other or just bouncing ideas off the wall and seeing what was funny, yet interesting to watch.
Animal: Sounds like a lot of fun, I should know because I was there for most of it. What did you learn through your experiences with the show and hosting it?
Digital: Oh yes, who can forget the golden era of Animal writing for Up Late. I learnt that you as the host should not place yourself in the spotlight if you are interviewing people. Because the guest should be the spotlight of the show, but in order for the guest to shine per say, you need to make the guest feel comfortable talking to you, you also need to ask good questions, not the typical ones like “Who are you”, “What’s going on in your life”, as people already know all of that through social media these days. The host has to ask questions that the people want to ask.
Animal: Interesting advice you got there, hopefully more people can take away a thing or two from it! Moving on, I was curious to learn more from the other groups that you help out in. I came across that you are a manager at Arcade Island and also a manager in the ROBLOX Community Developers group, care to share some more info on these?
Digital: I sure can! Now talking about Arcade Island, it is a wonderful arcade with games that really attract people. I am indeed a manager there, but it’s not what you think it really means. We deal with any problems or concerns that the players have in-game. For example: dealing with exploiters, now you may think “what can exploiters even do in an arcade game”, well… They can get unlimited chips, tickets, go through walls, access areas that they shouldn’t have access to, so basically, exploiters CAN actually exploit in an arcade and that’s where we, a great team, come in and prevent that from happening. I honestly do not understand why people have the need to exploit in games where you should have fun, because exploiting to my knowledge just takes all of that fun away, after a while it gets boring. On top of that you have to avoid getting caught.
Now talking about ROBLOX Community Developers, or as we call it RCD, is a great community for developers, scripters, streamers, youtubers and a lot of other people to get to know each other, ask for help in developing, feedback and all that. It is essentially the ROBLOX DevForums, except for all creators of different types. It has at this time I believe over 10 thousand members, and the number keeps growing. So if any creators out there want to hangout with others, come join Roblox Community Developers! I promise you, it will be worth your 1 group slot :P
Animal: That is really cool to hear. I think we can move on to some rapid question time (it keeps us sane) who would you say is your favorite Roblox developer?
Digital: Oh you hit me with a very well thought question right there… Now as I have interviewed some developers that are known in the ROBLOX Community, I have to probably say that DevUItra would be my all time favorite Developer. Of course, who can forget about the great AlvinBlox, so let’s just throw Alvin on that list with DevUItra.
Animal: Alvin is a great developer, Alvin if you’re reading this we appreciate all you do for scripting videos! So, what would you say is your favorite game on Roblox?
Digital: Yes, Alvin, we love you! You have helped a lot of people including me. I still don’t know how to script though… Now my all time favorite game on ROBLOX would be the now closed “Neighborhood of Robloxia”, it has been there since the day I came to ROBLOX, I think I speak for everyone when I say that, that game has carried all ROBLOX players who were here before it shut down.
Animal: I never played it but I am sure it was a great game. Next great question: don8 pl0x i has fwve kids and a wife
Digital: I have a lot of questions, but none of them compete with your ultimate, award winning question “don8 pl0x i has fwve kids and a wife”. Also, you’ve never played on The Neighborhood Of ROBLOXIA? You have missed a lot my friend…
Animal: No, I have never played it! Everyone go in the comments and say if you ever played it, I cannot be the only one! Moving on, if the world was ending what would your first reaction be?
Digital: Oh, my reaction would be for mature people only. Now if I were to take the language a notch down it would be: ## ####!
Animal: Good answer. Any words of encouragement or experience you had that you wish to share with others who may wish to host their own Roblox talk shows and see as much success?
Digital: Believe in yourself. Never think only about the negatives, listen to your fans, if you get criticism - take it, but don’t let it get you down.
Animal: Great words, the best of words, of encouragement.
Digital: I have the best words.
Animal: Thank you for your time with this interview, we wish you luck with whatever you do next!
Digital: Thank you! I wish you luck too, your blog has a lot of potential! I thank you for your time, now I must get back to looking for a new home for my talk-show.
